Nowadays, in business and in our private lives, change is the rule - not the exception. Dr. Spencer Johnson said ‘When you stop being afraid, you feel good!’ Despite the truth of that statement, people need an attitude adjustment as well as skill enhancement.
In this programme, participants, whether they are leaders or team members, will get the tools they need to embrace change. They can expect to gain insights, learn skills, be involved, have fun and get results.
Objectives
To enable participants to:
- outline the blocks to change
- learn strategies that overcome resistance to change
- build a positive resistance to change
- understand the dynamics of change, i.e. what works and what doesn’t work
- make constructive risk taking a larger part of one’s personal and professional life
- to master a process that people accept, lead, or implement change
Preparing for Change - Understanding the Importance of Risk
Strategies are established which can be put in place to allow participants to be more flexible, proactive and resilient when it comes to coping with change. Risk taking and the adoption of an appropriate risk management style are explored.
Breaking Through the Barriers to Change
Participants examine evidence based information on:
- challenging resistance
- selling the need for change
- providing support and training
- effective communication
The Management of the Dynamics of Change
Participants gain a knowledge and skills in managing the dynamics of change and taking control in a healthy and positive way.
Leading Change
Managers and team leaders who need to implement change positively will gain valuable information on topics which include:
- implanting a vision
- developing commitment and ownership of change
- facilitating change without intimidation
- taking people through phases of change
- avoiding organisational blunders
