Managing Challenging Behaviour

Aim

This programme provides an overview of the main factors associated with management of behaviour in a learning environment. It focuses on strategies which contribute to a positive learning environment and examines disruptive behaviour. It aims to develop and use ideas, skills and resources to make discipline a positive feature of teaching knowledge and skills.

Participants will:

  • Reflect on the key factors necessary for effective learning including the underlying causes of disaffection and disengagement
  • Identify the main approaches to behaviour management
  • Identify achievable routines, strategies and structures for use in the learning environment.
